Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking a Software Developer 3 (Full Stack) to deliver secure, high-performing enterprise applications in a hybrid Los Alamos environment. You will lead lifecycle development from requirements through deployment and support, mentoring peers and promoting Agile best practices.

The role emphasizes RESTful API design, AWS-based cloud apps, relational databases, and scalable front-end/backend solutions, with strong emphasis on architecture and stakeholder

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field with 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and supporting RESTful APIs.
• Experience developing applications utilizing AWS.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL) and data modeling.
• Experience implementing DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated testing, and deployment automation.
• Experience with SharePoint, CMS, or enterprise content management systems.
• Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies and Scrum.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system integration, and secure development.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical efforts while mentoring other developers.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, document, and support RESTful APIs for enterprise system integrations and modern architectures.
• Develop cloud-ready applications leveraging AWS and cloud-native practices.
• Design, optimize, and maintain relational databases and data models.
• Develop scalable backend services and responsive front-end interfaces.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Create architecture, technical documentation, and implementation plans.
• Lead software integration, testing, deployments, and post-implementation support.
• Mentor junior developers and enforce software engineering standards.
• Promote DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing to improve quality.
• Ensure compliance with safety, cybersecurity, and information security requirements.
