Job summary

Ad Hoc LLC is seeking a Lead Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to guide a federal civilian engineering team through the design and integration of the Library of Congress ECS/DLS bridge. This hands-on lead role requires strong Python/Django and Java expertise, cloud IAM, and architectural leadership.

You will architect scalable pipelines, coordinate with product owners, and drive best practices for CI/CD, testing, and secure data handling in a remote-enabled, collaboration-heavy environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on information system design and large-scale software development.
• Production Python/Django experience.
• Java development in a mixed Python/Java architecture.
• AWS (ECS Fargate, Lambda, S3, RDS, SNS/SQS) and Terraform for IaC.
• CI/CD with Jenkins and SonarQube.
• Content-addressable storage architectures (Fedora OCFL S3 hash keying).
• Search/Indexing with Solr and Elasticsearch.
• Frontend tech: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.
• Microservices and versioned API contracts.

Responsibilities

• Technical leadership of a 3-5 person team; ADRs, coding standards, code reviews, quality gates.
• Design and own integration layers and versioned API contracts bridging enterprise systems.
• Full stack development with Python/Django and Java.
• Build scalable, event-driven AWS data pipelines; manage infrastructure with Terraform.
• Maintain and modernize CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and SonarQube.
• Develop and maintain search indexing for content discovery with Solr/Elasticsearch.
• Lead Agile/SCRUM ceremonies with government Product Owners and stakeholders.
