Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to design, build, and deploy enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure and AI-powered automation. Lead CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and multi-cloud deployments while advancing SRE practices and secure, compliant operations.

You will collaborate with software engineering, data science, and security teams to deliver resilient infrastructure for Medicare platforms and related services, with remote work options from anywhere in the U.S. in this role.

Qualifications

5+ years in DevOps engineering, SRE, or cloud infra.
3+ years designing and managing automated CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps).
3+ years with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible).
3+ years hands-on with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenShift).
2+ years building, deploying, maintaining AI/ML pipelines or AI-powered automation.
2+ years monitoring/observability tooling (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Dynatrace).
1+ years scripting in Python, Bash, Go, or PowerShell.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions and automated pipelines with responsible AI focus.
Use enterprise AI tools to streamline workflows and automate infrastructure tasks.
Evaluate AI trends to inform platform architecture and innovation.
Architect and maintain CI/CD, IaC, and automated deployment across multi-clouds.
Establish MLOps frameworks for model lifecycle monitoring and automation.
Promote SRE principles, Kubernetes orchestration, and automated testing standards.
