Job summary

Optum Insight Engineering seeks a Lead AI Ops Cloud Engineer with SRE experience to design, build, and scale AI Ops solutions across payer and provider transformation initiatives. This hands-on technical leadership role requires architecture involvement and guiding globally distributed teams while delivering agentic AI, RAG pipelines, and enterprise‑grade reliability.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software and SRE experience in public cloud environments
• 3+ years hands-on Python and Terraform development
• 2+ years delivering AI/ML or GenAI solutions in production
• 2+ years managing Kubernetes environments (EKS/AKS/GKE)
• Available for 24x7 on-call shifts

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design and implementation of AI Ops solutions with emphasis on responsible AI
• Improve SRE practices, lead incident response, ensure high Availability and performance of cloud environments
• Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitHub Actions
• Define architecture for RAG pipelines, agentic workflows, tool calling, orchestration, and context management
• Build AI-powered solutions at enterprise scale using RAG-based approaches
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with development and SRE teams to improve system reliability
• Write and deploy software using Python and Node.js
• Leverage enterprise AI tools to streamline workflows and automate tasks
