Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Learning Subject Matter Expert to handle comprehensive editorial tasks for assessment content. You will ensure accuracy in grammar, usage, and style across assessment components while aligning with client standards.

The role requires strong copyediting expertise, collaboration with Editorial and Assessment teams, and the ability to work remotely with flexible coordination across departments. Compensation includes an hourly rate and benefits as described.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent certification/on-the-job training.
• Minimum of three years’ editorial experience and two years’ educational assessment experience.
• Proficient with Adobe Acrobat and MS Office 365 apps; understands HTML/XML basics.
• Ability to interpret style guides (Chicago Manual of Style, Garner’s, etc.).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Reliable, organized, and able to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Implements grammar, spelling, usage, punctuation, and style per standards.
• Ensures uniformity and consistency across assessment components.
• Adheres to client style guidelines and flags deviations.
• Seeks learning opportunities to strengthen editorial expertise.
