Job summary

Blattner Company is seeking a Lead Controls Engineer within the Major Projects Group to drive design quality across wind, solar, BESS, and gas projects. You will own SCADA and controls architecture, enforce standards, and mentor junior engineers and CAD staff.

You will lead pre-award development through commissioning, translating electrical constraints into software requirements and ensuring alignment with Owners and EOR teams. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited college required, or relevant equivalent industry experience.
• Professional Engineering (PE) license or master's degree in engineering is preferred.
• Eight or more years of progressive engineering and/or engineering supervisory experience in a related energy or construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Lead controls engineering lifecycle from pre-award development to design delivery, simulation, FAT/SAT, commissioning and closeout.
• Define control narratives, point maps, and data contracts across multi-technology projects.
• Coordinate with Owners, EOR teams, vendors, and field staff across wind, solar, BESS, and gas scopes.
• Mentor and develop engineers and staff; drive standards and change management.
• Ensure compliance with codes and Blattner best practices; deliver safe, verifiable designs.
