Job summary

LVI Associates, Clinton, NJ, seeks a Controls Engineer to join a growing engineering team focused on utility-scale renewables. You will design, implement, test and commission SCADA and control systems for solar, BESS, and wind projects, collaborating with project teams across design, procurement and field operations.

You will program PLCs/SCADA, prepare docs, support commissioning, and help troubleshoot complex systems while traveling up to 20% as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in SCADA, controls engineering, automation, or related field.
• Exposure to renewable energy projects (solar, battery, wind) preferred.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python, IEC 61131 Structured Text, C, C++, or Java.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop monitoring and control systems for renewable energy facilities (solar, battery storage, wind).
• Configure and integrate SCADA platforms, PLCs, RTUs, networking equipment and hardware.
• Produce detailed engineering documentation including system architecture, diagrams, and operator interface designs.
• Program, configure, and commission PLCs, SCADA systems, historians, and HMI applications.
• Prepare commissioning reports, as-built docs, operating procedures and training materials.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for installed monitoring and control systems.
• Coordinate network infrastructure requirements including IP schemes and firewall config.
• Support field installation and lead commissioning as needed.
• Diagnose issues using software/hardware diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate with project teams to report progress and mitigate risks.
