Job summary

Raft is seeking a Lead AI/ML Software Engineer to shape the next phase of [R]AIMS. You will be a senior technical leader, hands-on in the codebase, making architecture decisions and elevating engineering rigor across the platform.

You will collaborate with platform leadership, product, and DoD customers to balance edge and cloud deployments, multi-vendor integrations, and secure, scalable AI workflows within Raft’s mission-critical systems.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on experience building production software.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-native platforms.
• Willingness to obtain Security+ and eligible for TS/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Drive architectural decisions across the [R]AIMS platform ensuring performance and security.
• Lead major technical epics from conception through delivery.
• Simplify distributed system architecture as the platform scales.
• Optimize platform performance across edge and cloud deployments.
• Mentor engineers and conduct design reviews.
• Engage with DoD customers and stakeholders to represent Raft.
