Job summary

Raft is seeking a Staff Engineer for the [R]AIMS platform to shape architecture and drive major engineering initiatives. You will work hands-on and lead design reviews, partnering with platform leadership, product, and DoD-facing customers to ensure robust, scalable solutions.

The role emphasizes cross-team leadership, architectural discipline, and delivering production-grade AI-enabled workflows in a secure environment.

Qualifications

6+ years of hands-on experience building and shipping production software systems across the full stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure, and ML).
Strong fundamentals to design and evolve complex systems that perform reliably at scale.
Exceptional technical communication; lead through influence across teams.

Responsibilities

Drive architectural decisions across the [R]AIMS platform with focus on performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
Lead major technical epics from conception to delivery with cross-functional teams.
Simplify distributed system architecture as the platform scales and improve reliability.
Optimize platform performance across edge and cloud deployments.
Establish reusable engineering patterns to improve developer productivity and code quality.
Mentor engineers and provide code feedback to elevate execution.
Collaborate with AI/ML engineers on model integration and deployment of agentic workflows.
Engage with customers and stakeholders to represent Raft's capabilities.
