Job summary

Nemours Children’s Health seeks a Laboratory Informatics & Technology Architect, full-time remote, to lead strategy, design, and delivery of laboratory technology solutions with a strong focus on digital pathology and pathology informatics.

The position partners with pathologists, laboratory leaders, vendors, and Information Systems teams to ensure secure, scalable, interoperable systems aligned with enterprise standards, while guiding implementation and long-term planning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required. Equivalent work experience may be considered for internal candidates only in lieu of education requirements.
• Minimum of five or more years of information technology experience in large-scale, heterogeneous IT environments.
• CIIP Certification required or must be obtained within 12 months of hire.
• Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology certification strongly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical, clinical, and imaging workflow concepts clearly.
• Experience with digital pathology, anatomic pathology workflows, imaging platforms and laboratory information systems.
• Position requires 30% travel to Wilmington, DE and Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital pathology implementation planning and go-live optimization.
• Collaborate with pathology, operations, vendors, and IS teams for image management, storage, interoperability, and LIS/EMR integrations.
• Develop roadmaps for lab applications, digital pathology platforms, and EMR solutions.
• Lead enterprise architecture design and maintenance for lab systems.
• Establish architecture governance and data governance processes.
• Evaluate technologies, prepare RFI/RFP content, and assist with budget estimates.
• Provide strategic guidance and ensure end-user adoption.
• Lead root-cause analyses and present findings to leadership.
• Review objectives for alignment with enterprise architecture and assess risks.
