Job summary

Jobot is seeking a remote Labor & Employment Counsel or Partner (Wage and Hour) for California matters. You will advise management on CA wage-and-hour, meal/rest breaks, and PAGA, and handle California state and federal litigation with occasional travel.

The role supports a national litigation practice and collaborates with the DC-based partners. Candidates should have 5+ years of labor and employment litigation experience in California and be eligible for a CA bar.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of substantive labor and employment litigation experience, with CA wage-and-hour experience.
• Willingness to submit a DC Bar waiver before start date (admission can follow after hire).
• Senior Associate, Counsel and Partner levels; portable book of business a plus for Partners.

Responsibilities

• Advise management-side clients on California wage-and-hour law, meal/rest breaks, and PAGA compliance.
• Serve as first- or second-chair in California state and federal court litigation and arbitration; travel occasionally.
• Defend EEO, discrimination, sexual harassment, restrictive covenant, and retaliation claims in both individual and class action settings.
• Support the firm’s nationwide commercial litigation practice beyond California matters.
• Share travel responsibilities with DC-based L&E and Litigation partners as needed.
