Job summary

Talnt is seeking an experienced Employment Partner in wage and hour litigation to join a nationally recognized practice. This fully remote role supports California employers and offices in Orange County and Downtown Los Angeles, offering strategic leadership in complex disputes and a focus on client advisory.

The ideal candidate has extensive California wage and hour litigation experience, strong mentoring skills, and a track record of managing litigation from inception to resolution.

Qualifications

• Active California Bar membership.
• Extensive experience representing employers in California employment litigation.
• Strong knowledge of California wage and hour law, including class actions and PAGA.
• Ability to independently manage complex litigation from inception through resolution.
• Strong motion practice, deposition, courtroom advocacy, and negotiation skills.
• Experience mentoring and supervising junior attorneys.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to build trusted client relationships and thrive in a fully remote environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead defense of employers in complex employment litigation in California state and federal courts.
• Handle all aspects of wage and hour litigation, including class actions, PAGA actions, and single-plaintiff disputes.
• Develop litigation strategy from pre-litigation through trial, arbitration, mediation, and appeal.
• Draft and argue dispositive motions, class certification, discovery motions, and appellate filings.
• Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
• Manage complex discovery including ESI and large document productions.
• Advise employers on California Labor Code compliance and wage/hour regulations.
• Mentor and supervise junior associates and litigation teams.
• Maintain and expand client relationships as a trusted advisor.
• Collaborate on practice development, client service, and growth initiatives.
