Job summary

UNFI is hiring a Learning & Development Specialist to deliver and coordinate instructor-led and virtual training, ensuring engaging experiences and effective knowledge transfer. You will manage logistics, records, and reporting while supporting enterprise learning initiatives across the HR Corporate team.

This remote role supports national colleagues, with occasional office visits as needed, and requires 2–4 years in learning and development, strong facilitation, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of experience in learning and development, training, human resources, education, operations, or a related field.
• Experience coordinating training programs, workshops, or learning events.
• Experience facilitating classroom or virtual learning preferred.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates instructor-led and virtual learning programs across a variety of topics including onboarding, leadership development, systems training, and professional development initiatives.
• Delivers engaging learning experiences that promote knowledge retention, skill development and application of learning on the job.
• Observes, audits, and assesses training delivery conducted by store-level trainers to ensure consistency and effectiveness. Provides coaching and feedback to trainers to improve facilitation skills, learner engagement, and training outcomes.
• Manages learning program logistics, including scheduling, communications, enrollment, participant support, materials preparation, and reporting.
• Maintains learning records, attendance tracking, completion reporting, and program documentation.
• Supports administration of learning systems and related technologies.
• Collects and reports program participation, completion, and feedback data.
• Provides operational support for enterprise learning initiatives and special projects.
• Maintains strong working relationships with learners, facilitators, managers, and stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
