Job summary

ASM Research, an Accenture Federal Services Company, is seeking a Knowledge Management Specialist to research and compile technical data for manuals, articles, and job aids. The role analyzes project requirements, collects data from technical staff, and ensures documentation accuracy, adhering to DoDAF/IEEE and AMA/APA/CSE standards.

The position supports a fully remote, distributed team, with opportunities to apply CMMI Level 3/AIMM processes and contribute to reusable content and knowledge

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in English/communications/technical writing.
• 1–2 years of technical writing or knowledge management experience.
• Experience with Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
• US citizenship and ability to undergo a federal background check.

Responsibilities

• Works with internal teams and Subject Matter Experts to obtain an in-depth understanding of the content, product, and documentation requirements.
• Analyzes existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Studies drawings, official announcements, specifications, mockups, test sites, and product samples, and meets with product designers and developers.
• Uses graphics to increase end users' understanding of the Customer/program system.
• Translates development requirements into required documentation changes; adheres to platform requirements.
• Proofs documentation to detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, syntax, and established styles and standards.
• Analyzes requirements of the project to determine scope of work and required documentation products.
• Understands and applies overarching policy requirements to ensure all documentation products comply with those requirements.
• Determines the needs of end users of technical documentation and ensures that documentation meets those needs.
• Produces technical documentation that is clear, concise, and comprehensible.
• Gathers usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers.
