Job summary

ASM Research, An Accenture Federal Services Company, seeks a Knowledge Management Specialist (internal Technical Writer) to compile and produce technical documents such as manuals, job aids, and specifications. You will work with SMEs to determine publication needs, ensure accuracy, and align with DoDAF, IEEE, and AMA/APA/CSE standards in a fully remote team.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in English, communications, or technical writing.
• 1-2 years of experience in technical writing, documentation, or knowledge management.
• Excellent command of English grammar, style, and editing.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
• Experience with desktop publishing tools; translate requirements into clear documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fully remote, distributed team environment.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to undergo a federal background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Works with internal teams and SMEs to understand content, product, and documentation needs.
• Analyzes existing content for reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Reviews drawings, announcements, specs, mockups, and product samples with designers and developers.
• Uses graphics to improve end-user understanding of the system.
• Converts development requirements into documentation changes per standards.
• Proofreads to correct spelling, grammar, and style.
• Assesses project scope and required documentation outputs.
• Ensures compliance with policy requirements across docs.
• Identifies end-user needs and delivers clear, concise documentation.
• Gathers usability feedback from customers, designers, and manufacturers.
