Job summary
SMX is seeking a Junior Federal Financial Business Analyst to join our client service delivery team. This 100% remote role works with federal stakeholders to analyze financial data, improve processes, and deliver data‑driven insights to support strategic decisions.
Responsibilities include documenting workflows, facilitating workshops, developing test plans, and creating end‑user documentation. A Bachelor's degree and 3+ years in federal finance or analytics are preferred, with a Public Trust
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required or equivalent
- 3+ years of federal financial management, business analysis, data analytics or related consulting experience
- Experience with federal government data and processes
- Public Trust clearance or ability to obtain one
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex financial and operational data to support decision‑making.
- Document business processes, workflows, and requirements.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify improvement opportunities.
- Recommend process, technology, and data solutions to improve efficiency.
- Review policies and data structures for impacts on financial processes.
- Utilize BI/analytics tools to maximize value of client data assets.
- Create end‑to‑end SDLC documentation and test plans.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align requirements.
- Develop test cases and manage test execution.
