Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Data Scientist to develop statistical and machine learning models supporting our FALCON effort. This role offers remote work within the continental US and collaboration with engineers, data scientists, and stakeholders to transform data into actionable insights.

The ideal candidate will work on time-series and geospatial data, build simulations, and help integrate analytics into mission-focused software. Security clearance and strong communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a US citizen.
• Ability to obtain CBP/DHS suitability.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related discipline (4 extra years experience may substitute).
• Proficiency with Python and libraries such as pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, matplotlib, scipy.
• Willing to work remotely within the continental US and communicate via video.
• Experience with time series and/or geospatial data.
• Strong statistics, including testing, regression, and probability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, HDFS.

Responsibilities

• Design analytic solutions to meet customer needs.
• Enhance analytic solutions for quality and performance.
• Integrate data from multiple sources for a common operating picture.
• Select and implement statistical analyses and scoring metrics.
• Create training and test datasets for algorithms.
• Perform ETL, data cleansing, and validation tasks.
• Produce analytic reports and presentations for stakeholders.
• Identify data visualization needs for analysis and UI.
