Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Java-focused developer to design, build, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot. You will lead component development, REST APIs, and microservices while aligning with SDLC practices.

Required are hands-on Java experience, REST/microservices expertise, and strong SDLC knowledge. You will collaborate with architects, analysts, and product owners, mentor juniors, and contribute to performance tuning and production

Qualifications

• Hands-on Java 7/8 development
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot
• Proven REST API, microservice, and backend services
• Strong SDLC understanding and design principles
• Experience with Java 8 functional features ( Lambdas, Streams, Optional )
• Knowledge of debugging, profiling, and performance tuning
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication in cross-functional teams

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Lead the development and implementation of components, microservices, REST APIs, and backend services following SDLC practices.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and tasks.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code with best practices.
• Leverage Java 8 features to improve performance and code quality.
• Collaborate with architects, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
• Perform code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
• Participate in performance tuning, debugging, and production support.
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, and compliance with standards.
• Support automated builds and deployment via CI/CD and version control.
