Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java technologies and modern backend frameworks. You will work with architects, analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions from design through deployment.

Key activities include building REST APIs and microservices with Spring Boot, applying SDLC best practices, and mentoring juniors.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 7/8 development.
• Experience developing applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and application design principles.
• Experience utilizing Java 8 features (Lambda, Streams, Optional).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Lead the development of components, microservices, REST APIs, and backend services.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and development plans.
• Write high-quality, reusable code following standards and patterns.
• Utilize Java 8 features to improve performance and code quality.
• Collaborate across architects, analysts, product owners, and teams.
• Perform code reviews, provide guidance, and mentor juniors.
• Participate in performance tuning, debugging, and production support.
• Ensure security, reliability, and scalability in line with standards.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and version control workflows.
