Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise apps using Java 7/8, Spring, and Spring Boot. You will lead components, microservices, and REST APIs while aligning with SDLC practices and code standards.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 7/8 development.
• Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and application design principles.
• Experience utilizing Java 8 functional programming features (Lambdas, Streams, Optional).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication in cross-functional team environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Lead the development and implementation of application components, microservices, REST APIs, and backend services following SDLC practices.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs, specifications, and development activities.
• Develop high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code with coding standards and design patterns.
• Leverage Java 8 functional programming features (Lambdas, Streams, Optional) to improve performance.
• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Perform code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
• Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting, debugging, and production support.
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, and compliance with organizational standards.
• Support automated build and deployment processes via CI/CD and version control systems.
