Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Fullstack Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot. You will collaborate with architects, analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver robust backend services.

This remote role is open to qualified applicants in the United States. You will participate in SDLC best practices, contribute to CI/CD pipelines, perform code reviews, and mentor junior developers while ensuring

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with Java 7/8 development.
• Experience developing applications using Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
• Proven experience building REST APIs, microservices, and backend services.
• Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies and design principles.
• Experience with Java 8 functional programming ( Lambdas, Streams, Optional ).
• Knowledge of code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong collaboration and communication in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java 7/8, Spring Framework, and Spring Boot.
• Lead the development and implementation of application components, microservices, REST APIs, and backend services.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical designs and development activities.
• Develop high-quality, reusable code following standards and patterns.
• Leverage Java 8 functional programming to enhance performance and code quality.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams.
• Perform code reviews, provide technical guidance, and mentor junior developers.
• Participate in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Ensure security, reliability, scalability, and compliance with standards.
• Support CI/CD and version control workflows.
