Job summary

First Citizens Bank seeks a Software Engineer II focused on API Development and Cloud Migration. This remote role supports Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting platforms across Arizona, North Carolina, or Texas.

You will design, modernize, and secure enterprise APIs to enable scalable, cloud-native solutions. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, and AWS services, driving API modernization, security, and performance in a distributed environment while collaborating with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years in software development or 6+ years with HS diploma.
• 2+ years experience with enterprise APIs and AWS technologies (API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, S3, IAM, KMS).
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Node.js, RESTful API development, and microservices architecture.
• Experience with cloud-native design, API security, and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support secure, scalable APIs and microservices for Payments, Money Movement, and Information Reporting.
• Modernize and migrate APIs to AWS cloud-native architectures.
• Build RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and AWS-native tech.
• Collaborate with architects and product teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Implement secure coding practices: auth, encryption, secrets management.
• Improve API performance, reliability, and observability with monitoring tools.
