Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an IT Solutions Design Lead to guide the design, development, and delivery of technology-enabled applications within a computing systems environment.

You will lead the specification and software design phases and coordinate testing with other technologists. The role requires strong technical aptitude, deep experience in SDLC, and the ability to partner with business and technical teams to drive innovative solutions across E-commerce, sales, lease, and rental

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Logistics, Transportation or Business.
• 5+ years in application development or technology management or related experience.
• MS-SQL/SSIS-SSRS expert.
• Warehouse Management Systems advanced.
• C#/.Net/ASP beginner.
• Web Services/API beginner.
• Manhattan SCALE/SCI intermediate.
• Integration software using ANSI X12, XML and database tables intermediate.

Responsibilities

• Participates and provides input into the design, redesign and development of technology products and applications.
• Leads specification and software design phases of the software development life-cycle.
• Leads and manages the design and implementation of new software development and enhancement efforts, coordinating testing.
• Assists users with root-cause analysis and provides resolution options.
• Partners with the business to establish long-term strategic objectives.
• Addresses day-to-day production support fixes.
• Documents specifications and requirements and develops BPPs; supports functional testing.
• Acts as project manager for the full life-cycle of projects and enhancements.
• Interacts with program management and multiple teams to drive results.
• Reviews current functionality and recommends process and system improvements, including e-commerce.
