Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Lead Solutions Design Engineer to drive the design of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions.

You will support growth by crafting financially valuable designs, understanding customer needs, and delivering compelling proposals that align with Ryder's capabilities. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary pursuit team, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring successful startup transitions of optimized designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or Industrial Engineering
• Six (6) years or more in the Transportation industry required
• Six (6) years or more in the Warehousing and/or Manufacturing industry required
• Microsoft Office Suite skills with emphasis on Access, Excel and PowerPoint expert required
• Knowledgeable of visualization (Tableau, Microsoft) and database programming intermediate preferred
• Transportation and Warehouse Design knowledge and tools familiarity a plus

Responsibilities

• Lead solutions design for logistics networks and transportation solutions
• Review RFPs, define objectives, and develop hypotheses for proposed designs
• Develop cost and pricing models, baselines, and operation concepts
• Coordinate with bid response teams and customers through design validation meetings
• Mentor a small team of SD Engineers and lead design projects
