Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Application Development Lead to provide technical leadership in designing, developing and delivering technology-enabled applications, products and services within a complex computing environment.

The role focuses on leading design phases, SDLC governance, and coordinating testing and deployments while guiding teams and stakeholders to meet schedules and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field; relevant experience may substitute for degree.
• 5+ years in application development or technology management or a related role; Master's degree may substitute.
• Expert MS-SQL/SSIS-SSRS skills; strong Warehousing Management Systems experience.
• C#/.Net development and Web Services/API experience (beginner level described).
• Experience with Manhattan SCALE/SCI; familiarity with ANSI X12 and XML.
• Travel up to 30–40% as needed.

Responsibilities

• Participates in design, redesign and development of technology products and applications.
• Leads specification and software design phases of the SDLC and coordinates testing with technologists.
• Manages design and implementation of new development efforts and coordinates installation and testing.
• Assists users by leading root-cause analysis and proposing resolutions.
• Acts as project manager for full life-cycle of projects and enhancements.
• Interface with program management, digital marketing and business process teams.
• Documents specifications and develops Business Process Procedures (BPPs).
• Supports functional testing to ensure business requirements are met; adheres to standards.
