Job summary

Toppan Merrill is seeking a strategic IT Sourcing & Procurement Category Manager to lead IT category strategies across software, cloud, hardware, and services. You will collaborate with IT, Finance, Legal, Security and business leaders to drive value, reduce costs, and mitigate risk while aligning with corporate objectives.

The role requires 5+ years in strategic sourcing with IT focus, strong negotiation and governance skills, and the ability to manage supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, IT, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement focusing on IT.
• Experience sourcing and negotiating for software, SaaS, cloud services, hardware, telecom, cybersecurity, and IT services.
• Strong understanding of software licensing models and cloud contracts.
• Experience negotiating with leading technology providers.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category management strategies.
• Analyze spend, market trends, supplier capabilities, and business requirements to identify opportunities and cost optimization.
• Lead RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, evaluations, negotiations, and supplier selection.
• Advise IT leadership on procurement strategies, contract terms, supplier management, and technology investments.
• Partner with IT, Finance, Legal, Information Security, and other stakeholders to align procurement with priorities and compliance.
• Negotiate complex contracts, pricing, licensing terms, and SLAs.
• Manage strategic supplier relationships and governance processes.
• Support budgeting, forecasting with market intelligence and sourcing recommendations.
• Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation initiatives across IT spend.
• Develop category strategies, roadmaps, and supplier performance metrics.
• Ensure procurement policies and governance are followed throughout the lifecycle.
• Prepare executive reports, business cases, and project updates.
• Assist ROI evaluations, business justification, and total cost of ownership analyses.
• Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and supplier performance.
