Job summary

TEK Systems is seeking an entry-level Level 1 Help Desk Technician to provide first-line IT support remotely. You will troubleshoot hardware/software issues, assist with password resets, installations, and account management, and escalate more complex issues as needed.

You’ll work a second shift from Raleigh, NC, with a pay rate of $15.50/hour and benefits eligibility. Training is 6 weeks; attendance and schedule adherence are monitored.

Qualifications

• 6 weeks training – Missing more than 1 day can lead to a drop in the program.
• First 30 days on the floor – first out for any reason will lead to a final warning with or without a doctor's note.
• Planned days off require approval.
• Second time out while on a warning can lead to a drop.
• NCNS (no call no show) will likely be a drop.
• Attendance compliance measured after 30 days (92.5% required).
• Assigned schedules require 2nd shift; some Saturdays/Sundays work.
• Tier II qualifications include AA/CS/IT education or 2 certifications (A+, Sec+, Net+, CCNA)
• $1 differential upon conversion

Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve a high volume of IT support requests via phone, email, or chat.
• Diagnose and resolve basic hardware and software issues including OS problems and account management.
• Use internal knowledge base to resolve common issues and provide feedback for improvement.
• Create, update, and close support tickets with accurate documentation.
• Provide excellent customer service with a positive, professional attitude.
• Meet performance metrics like call handling time and QA scores.
