Job summary

Husch Blackwell LLP seeks an IP Paralegal Assistant to support patent and trademark matters within a busy IP practice. You will assist attorneys and paralegals with docketing, electronic filings, portfolio management, and patent maintenance, enabling efficient handling of complex matters.

The role may be filled remotely or in any of our locations, providing a stable, embedded team environment with opportunities to develop expertise and take on increasing responsibilities over time.

Qualifications

• One year of patent experience preferred.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Experience with electronic court filings.
• Ability to prioritize workflow and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys and paralegals with patent and trademark matters.
• Handle docketing, electronic filing, portfolio management, and maintenance of patent applications.
• Coordinate international filings with foreign offices as needed.
• Maintain docket due dates and manage responses, renewals, and related filings.
• Perform document management tasks (scanning, filing, copying, courier).
• Enter matter information into applicable software and stay current on Patent & Trademark concepts.
