OCCU in Eugene, Oregon seeks an accomplished Director of Insurance Services to lead OCCU’s insurance programs, driving Personal and Commercial Lines growth and stronger member value. This is a remote opportunity for Oregon residents.

The role blends strategic leadership with active production: grow new business, manage carrier relationships, and coach a high-performing team to deliver measurable results. You will ensure compliance, optimize workflows, and report performance to senior leadership

Qualifications

• Five+ years of insurance industry experience, including leading an insurance agency.
• Experience growing Personal and Commercial Lines.
• Proven producer and leader of sales, service, or insurance operations teams.
• Ability to translate strategy into measurable goals and drive execution.
• Strong knowledge of insurance products, carrier relationships, profitability.
• Leadership style focused on coaching, trust, and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop insurance agents and processors with clear expectations.
• Contribute as a producer while growing new business and retaining accounts.
• Develop strategies and roadmaps, then lead execution.
• Grow OCCU’s Personal Lines and Commercial Lines business.
• Improve products, pricing, services, workflows, and delivery methods.
• Manage carrier and partner relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Establish effective sales, service, renewal, and policyholder-support processes.
• Use market research and performance data to guide decisions.
• Ensure compliance and regulatory readiness.
• Communicate performance and priorities to senior leadership and the Board.
• Build trusted partnerships across OCCU with a tenacious, humble leadership style.
