The ideal candidate has 5+ years in insurance defense, a top-tier law school JD, active bar in AZ/CA/NJ/NY/TX, and a portable book of business; remote work is available with significant client interaction and collaboration with carriers

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in AZ, CA, NJ, NY or TX.
• 5+ years of substantive experience in insurance defense litigation.
• Experience defending personal injury and wrongful death matters.
• Familiarity with premises liability, motor vehicle, trucking, and general liability claims.
• Strong knowledge of medical records, treatment analysis, causation issues, and damages.
• Ability to collaborate with medical experts and other consultants.
• Knowledge of insurer billing guidelines, budgets, and e-billing systems.
• Excellent analytical, advocacy, negotiation and client-relations skills.
• Portable business of $350,000+ preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex insurance defense litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Develop and implement litigation strategies for efficient, favorable outcomes.
• Analyze claims, evaluate liability and damages, provide strategic recommendations.
• Draft and argue motions, oversee discovery, and manage case development.
• Conduct and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, coordinate experts.
• Represent clients at court appearances, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
• Collaborate with insurance carriers, clients, experts, and co-counsel.
• Maintain high standards of client service while managing multiple matters and deadlines.
