Job summary

The Hartford is hiring a Customer Care Representative to support policyholders with questions, policy changes, and billing. This entry-level role in the remote contact center offers learning opportunities and clear pathways into Claims and Operations with coaching toward career growth.

Location: 100% remote. Training: Mon-Fri, EST, 12 weeks. Base pay ranges from $46,222 to $69,333 annually, with potential bonuses and total compensation beyond base pay.

Qualifications

• Background in customer service, insurance, retail, or related fields.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with empathy.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Experience in Windows-based computer environments.
• Collaborative work style.
• Problem solving and critical thinking skills.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership to service callers and strengthen The Hartford brand.
• Provide exceptional customer service to policyholders in every interaction.
• Handle inbound calls about home/auto policies and billing.
• Initiate claims and assist with existing inquiries.
• Explain claims process, initiate damage appraisals, and arrange car rental when needed.
• Promote digital self-service capabilities.
• Use multiple computer applications with accuracy.
• Commit to training and consistent work schedule.
• Maintain a dedicated workspace free from distractions.
