Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in a specialized customer service environment.
• Or two (2) years' college coursework (at least 48 credit hours) plus one (1) year experience in a specialized customer service environment.
• Must pass company proficiency test: Customer Service Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and concisely in business English; explain benefits without jargon and keep accurate electronic notes in appropriate systems.
• Interact with members, groups, and providers to resolve issues related to products, services, and health insurance plans offered by ABCBS.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Become an expert on benefits and eligibility for health insurance plans and know where to find information to provide superior customer service.
• Support compliance with privacy rules and HIPAA guidelines.
