Job summary

Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield is seeking a Customer Service Representative to resolve member inquiries promptly and courteously, documenting detailed notes and, when needed, researching systems or consulting experts to reach a first-time resolution.

This remote, regular role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years in a specialized customer service environment. Strong communication, multitasking, and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years' experience in a specialized customer service environment.
• OR two (2) years' college coursework (at least 48 credit hours) plus one (1) year experience in a specialized customer service environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicate clearly and concisely in business English, using correct grammar and vocabulary; document conversations and maintain accurate notes in the appropriate software systems.
• Interact directly with members, groups, and providers to resolve issues related to health insurance plans offered by ABCBS; adhere to privacy rules and company directives.
• Other duties as assigned
• Handle confrontational situations with empathy while reaching fact-based conclusions and resolutions.
• Become an expert on benefits and eligibility for health insurance plans across multiple lines of business.
