Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. The role requires learning multiple hospital systems, researching claims, and performing basic follow-up on unpaid claims to resolve accounts receivable.

This remote position welcomes candidates anywhere in the US, with preference for CST or EST time zones.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma required.
• 1+ years' experience in related field (recent graduate of Medical Billing and Coding coursework accepted in lieu of experience).

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on hospital patient accounts that are outstanding for insurance payment.
• Work an average of 30-40 patient accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies for payment of outstanding insurance balances.
• Perform research on patient accounts and route through appropriate workflows.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and security requirements in all activities.
