Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, is seeking an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. This remote role welcomes candidates nationwide in the US, with preference for CST or EST time zones.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma required.
• 1+ years' experience in related field (recent graduate of Medical Billing and Coding coursework accepted in lieu of experience).
• Excellent communication, good judgment, tact, initiative, and resourcefulness.
• Must be detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on hospital patient accounts to resolve insurance balances; verify claim payment status and rebill as needed.
• Handle 30–40 patient accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Address denials and $0 pay reports within 48 hours of receipt; communicate with insurance companies.
• Document research findings and outline next steps towards resolution.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and security compliance and support QMS procedures.
