Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. The role requires learning multiple hospital systems, conducting research, and handling basic insurance claims to timely close accounts receivable.

This remote position welcomes candidates nationwide in the US, with CST/EST timezone preference. Wage: $18 - $26/hour.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year experience in related field.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Access PHI following privacy guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on insurance balances and verify payment status.
• Process 30–40 patient accounts daily.
• Respond to payor denials within 48 hours.
• Communicate with insurance companies for payment of balances.
• Maintain HIPAA privacy and security responsibilities.
• Input worked time and attend team/department meetings.
• Document research findings and next steps for resolution.
• Review and suggest adjustments on accounts per payor/client guidelines.
