Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. This remote role welcomes candidates nationwide, with preference for CST or EST time zones.

You will learn multiple hospital systems, conduct research, and handle basic claims to ensure timely accounts receivable resolution. Wage ranges from $18 to $26 per hour.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent diploma required.
• 1+ year(s) experience in related field preferred; recent graduates considered.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently under department standards.
• Comfort with HIPAA privacy and security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and resolve outstanding hospital patient insurance balances.
• Follow up on 30–40 patient accounts per day for assigned payors.
• Communicate with insurance companies for payment of balances.
• Research accounts and route through appropriate workflows to resolution.
• Document research findings and next steps clearly for each account.
• Support team projects and collaborate with other departments as needed.
