Job summary

MEDHOST, a division of Harris, seeks an Account Follow-up Representative I to review and resolve outstanding insurance balances for hospital patient accounts. You will learn multiple hospital systems, conduct research, and manage basic insurance claims to improve accounts receivable resolution.

This remote role welcomes candidates nationwide, CST/EST timezone preference noted. Wage ranges from $18 to $26 per hour, with opportunities to handle denials and complex payor workflows while maintaining

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years in related field; medical billing experience preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work independently per department standards.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Access PHI per guidelines with HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Timely follow-up on insurance balances and verify claim status.
• Work 30-40 patient accounts per workday for assigned payor(s).
• Handle denials and zero-dollar reports within 48 hours of receipt.
• Communicate with insurance companies to secure payment.
• Research accounts and route through appropriate workflows.
• Document findings and next steps clearly for resolution.
