Sonoran Desert Institute is seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team, focusing on creating engaging online courses for higher education through Canvas and related tools.

You will collaborate with subject matter experts, design course shells, assessments, and multimedia resources, ensure accessibility, and support QA through the full development lifecycle while staying current with distance education trends.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instructional Design or related field.
• At least 3 years professional instructional design experience.
• At least 1 year of professional instructional design experience at a higher education institution.
• Advanced knowledge of adult learning principles and distance instruction.
• Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and course-authoring software.

Responsabilidades

• Collaborate with subject matter experts to analyze learning needs and identify objectives and outcomes for new/revised distance learning courses; create course docs, blueprints, curriculum maps, and resource selection.
• Apply instructional design principles and accessibility standards to create student-centered content.
• Design and develop engaging online course materials, including multimedia, assessments, discussions, and activities.
• Develop course shells, syllabi, modules in the LMS (Canvas) using native tools and authoring software.
• Source and secure licenses for external media and cite resources.
• Assist with Academic Quality Assurance and stay current with trends in instructional design and distance education.
