Job summary

Inova Health System seeks a Medical Records Coder Supervisor (Inpatient) to lead the inpatient coding team. The role offers a full-time day shift with remote work eligibility for several states, including VA, MD, DC, and others.

The supervisor will monitor coding accuracy, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive process improvements. The position requires an Associate degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years of coding experience, and active certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P) at start.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS or CCS-P certifications preferred.
• Experience in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and inpatient coding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, assesses, studies, and analyzes coding and documentation for compliance problems.
• Identifies trends in documentation to improve coding accuracy.
• Oversees team performance and training to meet quality standards.
• Maintains payroll and staffing considerations for the coding team.
