Job summary

micro1 is seeking Certified Inpatient Coders (Contractor) to contribute to AI-driven medical data accuracy projects in the United States. You will apply your inpatient coding expertise to improve model learning and data quality in real-world records.

The role requires active CIC or CCS or AHIMA/AAPC certification, inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS experience, and a commitment of at least 10 hours per week, with remote work support.

Qualifications

• Active certification in CIC or CCS or AHIMA/AAPC (e.g., RHIA, RHIT, COC).
• Inpatient ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience.
• Availability of at least 10 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to ensure accurate ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding per guidelines.
• Review clinical documentation for accuracy, completeness, and coding integrity.
• Identify principal and secondary diagnoses and assign POA indicators.
• Validate MS-DRG assignment, including CCs/MCCs, and flag HACs and patient safety indicators.
• Evaluate AI-generated notes against documentation and coding standards.
• Code AI-generated information using ICD-10-CM/PCS classifications.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
• Provide clear written feedback on coding errors and complex cases to improve model performance.
