Job summary

Universal Health Services seeks a remote inpatient coder to ensure DRG accuracy and timely ICD-10-CM/PCS coding. You will collaborate with the Coding Manager, CDI team, Business Office and Case Management to maintain high standards.

Responsibilities include inpatient coding and DRG validation, outpatient coding awareness, and using the 3M Encoder. AHIMA/AAPC certification and inpatient experience preferred; must have a reliable home internet connection.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of coding experience (inpatient preferred).
• Advanced training in ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and APC.
• Medical terminology, anatomy and physiology knowledge.
• Strong computer skills and ability to read medical reports.
• Ability to work remotely with a home internet connection and privacy-compliant workspace.
• Commitment to the Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient records and assign/validate DRGs.
• Maintain knowledge of outpatient coding as needed.
• Use 3M Encoder to classify records according to ICD-10-CM/PCS.
• Collaborate with Coding Manager/Supervisor, CDI team, Business Office and Case Management.
