Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking an Inpatient Coding Specialist to work remotely. You will encode inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS and ensure compliance with CMS and UH guidelines.

Responsibilities include accurate coding, DRG assignment, maintaining productivity, and collaborating with the CDI team. A HIM-focused degree is required, with CPC/CCS/RHIT/RHIA/CIC certifications to be obtained upon hire.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ year ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience.
• Proficient in medical terminology, anatomy/physiology, and pharmacology.
• Compliance with AHIMA Standards and PHI security.

Responsibilities

• Code inpatient records with ICD-10-CM/PCS per CMS and hospital guidelines.
• Assign DRGs and ensure accuracy of POA, CC/MCC impact.
• Maintain productivity and quality within department standards.
• Abide by coding policies and CDI reconciliation processes.
• Collaborate with Clinical Documentation Integrity Team and physicians.
