Job summary

Pena4 Inc. seeks an Inpatient Medical Coder (CCS certified) for a 100% remote role. Ideal candidate has at least 5 years of IP PCS coding experience; CCS certification is required; OP coding is a plus. You will work on inpatient and outpatient accounts, using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS with Cerner/PowerChart/3M/EPIC to ensure accurate coding and DRG assignments. Start date is immediate and an assessment test is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IP PCS coding experience.
• CCS certificate is required.

Responsibilities

• Examine the complete medical record to determine principal and secondary diagnoses and procedures.
• Sequence diagnoses and procedures with high accuracy (target 95%).
• Aim for optimal DRG assignments for each coded record.
• Maintain consistent productivity and quality levels.
• Hold accounts when additional information is needed and escalate as required.
• Review coding literature and stay current on guidelines.
• Complete assignments as directed by management.
• Pursue continuing education opportunities.
• Collaborate with the team to meet goals and client needs.
• Perform related duties or special projects as assigned.
