Job summary

Datavant is a fully remote provider seeking experienced inpatient coders to join our team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, accurately sequence and abstract from patient records, and help oversee coding quality.

We value 3+ years of inpatient coding, CCS/RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong communication skills. This flexible role supports shaping healthcare data from your home workspace.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of inpatient coding experience.
• CCS, RHIT, or RHIA preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assign diagnostic and procedural codes using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes.
• Accurately sequence and abstract medical codes from patient records.
• Oversee and audit the work of Level 1 & 2 Coders, where applicable.
• Champion documentation improvement opportunities and coding issues.
• Uphold a 95% coding accuracy rate and 95% MS-DRG accuracy.
• Maintain site-specific productivity benchmarks.
• Foster professional communication with colleagues and hospital staff.
