Qualifications

• Review and analyze medical record documentation to assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and procedures.
• Familiarity with HCPCS/CPT coding in acute care inpatient, outpatient hospital or professional settings.
• Working knowledge of coding classification systems and adherence to coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze documentation to assign accurate codes for inpatient, outpatient and/or professional services.
• Adhere to Standards of Ethical Coding and official coding guidelines (AHIMA).
• Utilize encoder and billing systems to support accurate coding and documentation.
