Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Senior Health Information coder to ensure accurate clinical coding for reimbursement and data integrity. The role reports to Coding Compliance Manager and requires leadership in auditing and staff education.

Responsibilities include developing audit tools, analyzing coding trends, and ensuring adherence to AHIMA guidelines while maintaining high-quality patient records and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Four (4) years of hospital coding or auditing experience required.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines.
• Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and policies pertaining to documentation, coding, and billing.
• Experience with 3M Coding applications is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy with feedback to staff.
• Develop and coordinate educational sessions on documentation and coding.
• Serve as a resource for coding staff on organization-wide standards and guidelines.
• Design audit tools to monitor coding accuracy and monitor guidelines compliance.
• Keep abreast of coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
• Demonstrate commitment to AHIMA standards and professional development.
