Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking an experienced coder/auditor to ensure accurate clinical coding for proper reimbursement and data integrity. You will report to the Coding Compliance Manager and work to maintain coding standards across inpatient and outpatient settings.

The role requires AHIMA/AAPC certifications, 4 years of coding/auditing experience, and strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and reimbursement regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• RHIT, RHIA, CCA, CCS, or CIC certifications required per AHIMA/AAPC.
• Outpatient: RHIT or RHIA or AHIMA/AAPC certs required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy.
• Develop educational sessions for coding staff on documentation and coding.
• Serve as a coding standards resource across the organization.
• Design audit tools to assess coding accuracy and trends.
• Stay updated with coding guidelines and reimbursement rules.
• Perform trend analyses on coding practices to identify variations.
• Honor AHIMA coding ethics and organizational policies.
