Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System seeks an experienced coding professional to ensure accurate clinical coding for appropriate reimbursement and data integrity. This role reports to the Coding Compliance Manager and requires strong auditing and education skills.

Minimum qualifications include RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CIC certifications and 4 years of hospital coding experience, preferably in a trauma or academic setting. The team emphasizes safety, personalization, and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 4 years of relevant hospital coding or auditing experience.
• Experience in a level 1 trauma facility/academic teaching facility is strongly preferred.
• Proficient knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles and guidelines.
• Familiar with 3M Coding applications and resolving coding edits.
• Working knowledge of reimbursement systems and policies for documentation, coding, and billing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy; provide feedback to staff.
• Develop and coordinate educational sessions on documentation and accurate coding.
• Serve as a resource on coding standards and guidelines across the organization.
• Design audit tools to monitor coding accuracy and compliance.
• Stay current with coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements.
• Perform trend analyses to identify patterns in coding practices.
• Adhere to AHIMA/ACCD coding standards and official guidelines.
• Ensure safe care and adherence to Memorial Hermann policies and budgetary constraints.
• Support professional growth by facilitating education and mentorship for staff.
• Demonstrate compassionate, personalized service aligned with Memorial Hermann standards.
