Job summary

Requires four years of hospital coding/auditing, ICD-10-CM/CPT expertise, and AHIMA/AAPC certifications. You will design audits, educate staff, and stay current with guidelines to support safe, efficient care.

Qualifications

• Four years of hospital coding or auditing experience required.
• Experience coding/auditing in a trauma or teaching facility preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding principles.
• Proficient with coding software and reimbursement guidelines.
• Strong written and verbal communication; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular coding audits and monitor coding accuracy.
• Develop and coordinate educational sessions for coding staff.
• Serve as a resource for coding standards and guidelines.
• Design audit tools to assess coding quality and compliance.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and reimbursement rules.
• Perform trend analyses to identify coding variations.
• Uphold AHIMA coding standards and official guidelines.
• Support safe patient care and department budget targets.
• Mentor and support staff growth and competency.
